Students in Ms. McCarty's science classes at MILLS MIDDLE learned about DNA and applied that knowledge into a 3D model of a DNA strand demonstrating how information is stored. We love to see book knowledge transformed into visual projects like these! #pcssdproud #serveall

One of our own, AVID scholar Raeghan Coleman was selected by the Arkansas Women's Foundation to participate in the 2024 Girls of Promise Conference last week. "Girls of Promise is an initiative of the Women's Foundation of Arkansas to help women and girls reach their full economic potential. Girls of Promise exposes girls to opportunities and mentors in STEAM fields with the goal of increasing the number of women in higher-level STEAM courses, careers, and putting them on the path to achieve economic security as women." We are certainly proud of this sweet beam of light! Congratulations Reaghan!! #girlsofpromise2024 #fullsteamahead #millsmiddleschoolcomets #avid4possibility #pcssdproud #womensfoundationofarkansas

Learning about DNA, Ms. McCarty's science classes created these wonderful DNA display boards. Objective: Students will understand and construct a 3D model of a DNA strand describing/modeling that information is stored within the DNA structure in the form of a sequence of chemical bases, each referred to by the first letter of its name (A, T, C and G) Way to go scholars! #learningisrequired #scienceislit #millsmiddleschool comets
